I'm a big list person and love making plans, writing down not only my big ideas and intentions but how I'm going to accomplish this change/goal/challenge. So I always make resolutions and actually look forward to them like a cleansing of mind, body and spirit. Out with the old - in with the new. Unfortunately, I can also get a little carried away and create lists of near impossible feats. At least aiming too high is better than not trying at all but I'm also starting to see the good in sometimes, smaller or short term goals. As long as you're moving forward to where you need or want to be, nothing is a waste, it's all worth doing.
Looking back at my annual list for this year, it actually doesn't look too crazy. Some difficult but some easy changes as well. And since I love the lists, here's a few things I hope to carry in to a wonderful and positive 2010:
#1 - The only constant in life is change, try not to fear or resist it. And it can be good, even if you don't see immediately see it.
#2 - Don't get too attached to ideas. If the sketch doesn't translate or things don't go as planned, keep an open mind. What might appear as an accident or failure can turn out to be a positive change. ( For more on this, see #1 )
#3 - Know your worth and stand by it.
#4 - Take good care of yourself everyday! Live in loving way, honor your own beliefs and spirit. Protect yourself and the ones you love.
Happy clean slate, new beginning or anything you choose to celebrate for the New Year!
